I want to report on what the Leadership Team has been doing over the last few weeks to bring a transitional pastor to New Life. We have:
Outlined the specific requirements for a transitional Pastor, particularly in light of this unusual and difficult time of COVID.
Established how many hours per week a transitional Pastor would be required to support our congregation.
Met with the transitional Pastor candidate referred to us by the Texas Synod who is familiar with our church and congregational needs.
Negotiated compensation and schedule with the candidate.
Drafted a preliminary offer and are awaiting commentary from the Texas Synod to proceed with an official offer.
Next Sunday, August 16th, the Leadership Team will meet to review and approve the final offer package to our transitional Pastor candidate. The following week, we hope to have the offer extended and submitted to the Synod for their attestation. Under an ideal timeline, which could still change depending on the Synod’s process, we hope our transitional pastor will lead worship on August 23rd .
