1 Samuel 3:1-20
The story of the child Samuel being called by God reminds me of the importance of how we are with children here in this faith community. Our primary task is to be the face of Christ to each other, and especially to let these children know that they are known, individually, and uniquely, by those in this faith community, and they are loved and worth knowing, and needed. That is what I want their deepest memory of church to be.
We are conscious of the importance of children's presence at New Life. We include them, consciously, in worship and in community service. We dote on them. We respect their ideas and input. We accommodate their differences in noise level and activity. And we are blessed.
